 The "Blunder by the FDA" (Monday, July 17, 1995) editorial about "the wonder drug Norplant" is more a blunder of the press. All the worrisome information lamented about Norplant was available and had been promoted in warning fashion by Right-to-Life groups everywhere.

 Just wait until the word comes in on RU-486. It will be another example of the press playing advocacy for "anything goes" sex and abortion like drugs. Then, of course, sanctimoniously, the press will point out the defects which were well known by everybody, suppressed by the press originally, and blamed on the FDA.
